Visiting lecturer on MA Digital Media Arts, University of Brighton

May 3, 2013

Always nice to make a return trip to Brighton, and this role allows me to do that about 15 times a year. I work with the first year students on Sue Gollifer’s course, and have done since 2006. I lead workshops, tutorials, and enjoy the responsibility of assessing the work of the students, and in grading their MA work. There is always a real diversity of projects on the go, and on many occasions I have been a mentor and inspiration to the students.

I also run a blog for the course which features much to interest and distract the students.

PS: this year’s students recently completed a collaborative project with Same Sky to work with kids from schools in Brighton and from Oklahoma, US. The project explored the Alphabet, in line with the theme of this year’s Children’s Parade, and we worked via social media to create a series of banners for the Parade.
